Did you know that the value of Bats to the agricultural industry is estimated at roughly $22.9 billionUSD per year and could be as high as $53 billionUSD per year?

These are enormous figures for the work done by just one group of animals! This value was calculated back in 2011, and was based on Bats' contributions to pest control, gobbling up many insects that would otherwise harm the agricultural industry's crops.

However, they're not just economic heroes; many species also serve as pollinators and seed dispersers.

Unfortunately, human induced disturbances such as light and noise pollution can have significant impacts on Bat populations. We must protect the vital creatures, not just for their intrinsic value, but also for the sake of ecosystem functioning, and the services that they provide to us.
